Capturing flight…

That a heavy metal – and more recently composite, structure filled with electronics, wire, software, fluids, flesh, hope, and necessity can defy gravity and speed through the atmosphere is astonishing. That we can fall asleep and wake-up half a world away to explore the earth, follow opportunity, or come home is astounding.

At the airports where we rush to depart, yearn to arrive, say hello and goodbye, where we wait, and sometimes wait and wait, a wonder of modernity should be marvelled.

On the sleekly curved airplanes where beauty and purpose intersect, where engineering and art link to serve humanity, a luxury has turned into a necessity. Too often overlooked, or by many completely ignored, here celebrated.

In the sky, the ever-changing sky, where peculiar clouds mingle with piercing blue skies and grumble at the grey ones, where dawns and dusks are amplified and the vastness is revered.
